Emy is the Director of the Instructional Technology Department at the Fresno County Office of Education and oversees both the Fresno County Instructional Technology Services and Regional California Technology Assistance Project. Emy has worked with FCOE since 2004, and prior to that worked in the Central Unified School District for 5 years as an English and history teacher. As a teacher, Emy co-coordinated a laptop program that was funded through the Enhancing Education through Technology federal grant, and taught a 7th and 8th grade 1:1 laptop program. In 2 years, her students saw a dramatic 10% proficiency increase in language arts standards, attendance rates, and overall motivation to learn. Emy credits her students' success to the tech-integrated curriculum that made learning the content standards meaningful, accessible to all learning styles, and fun. When fulfilling her CTAP Region 7 duties, Emy actively advocates at the state level on behalf of educational technology access, programs, and funding for the region's 134 school districts. Emy holds credentials in English and Administrative Services, a Masters degree in Education, and is currently pursuing an Ed.D. in Educational Leadership.
